Habitat Management Plans

An ecological / habitat management plan may be required to discharge a planning condition of an approved planning application, following the measures set out in the Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) and/or Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA). A management plan will detail the scheme of ecological mitigation, enhancement, and maintenance, and will be implemented and maintained for 5 to 10 years. There are different types of management plans, including:

  • Biodiversity Enhancement Management Plan (BEMP).
  • Landscape and Environmental Management Plan (LEMP).
  • Construction and Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
  • Habitat Restoration Plan, and
  • Habitat Management Plan.
